Privacy Policy

Fair Enough is a small tool for settling everyday disagreements. This page explains what information we collect when you use it, why, and what control you have over it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

What we collect

What you type in. The name you enter (this can be a first name, a nickname, anything — we don't verify it), the category of your dispute, your written position, any answers to clarifying questions, and your choice of mediator style.

Collected automatically. Your IP address, briefly — used only to limit abuse (rate limiting) and to verify you're not a bot (Cloudflare Turnstile). A random, anonymous identifier stored in your browser (not a cookie tied to you personally, not shared across other sites) — used only to measure product usage in aggregate, like how many people who start a case come back to start another. This identifier is not linked to your name or any other personal detail.

What we do not collect. There are no user accounts, so we don't collect passwords. We don't ask for or store email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or precise location.

How we use it

• To generate the mediation itself — your position and the other party's are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce clarifying questions and a resolution.
• To screen submissions before they're mediated — a fast automated check looks for content indicating abuse, threats, or a safety risk, and routes those away from mediation instead of generating a resolution.
• To generate the public, anonymized verdict page, if you or the other party chooses to create and share one. That page never includes names or your original wording.
• To keep the service running and measure it in aggregate — rate limiting to stop abuse, and basic usage statistics (never sold, never shared with advertisers).

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information, and we don't share dispute content with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service. That includes a small number of infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf:

• Anthropic — processes the text of your dispute to generate the mediation and to screen for serious content.
• Supabase — hosts the database where case data is stored.
• Upstash — stores your IP address briefly, only to enforce rate limits.
• Cloudflare — verifies you're not a bot when starting a case.
• Railway — hosts the application itself.

How long we keep it, and deleting your case

Cases are automatically deleted 90 days after creation. You don't have to wait — either party can permanently delete a case immediately using the "Delete this case" button on the case page. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone.

Your choices

• Delete anytime — see above.
• Keep it Cool — an opt-in mode that limits what the other party sees to a calm, neutral summary rather than your exact words.

A word on sensitive information

Please don't put anything into a dispute that you wouldn't want the other party, or anyone with your link, to see — full financial account numbers, government ID numbers, or similarly sensitive details have no reason to be in a "who does the dishes" conversation and we'd rather you left them out.

Children

Fair Enough isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

Access to a case is controlled by a long, random, per-person link rather than a password — we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it, never the link itself. All traffic to the site is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute protection against every possible attack.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
